We work with people across the Autism Spectrum but have particular expertise in working with adults who have Asperger Syndrome. (AS)
Our Mission is to:
- Challenge the barriers in society which discriminate against autistic people
- Improve the life experiences of autistic people
- Improve the knowledge and skills of professionals who work with autistic people
We do this by providing high quality:
- Student Support and Mentoring
- Autism specific Workplace Assessments
- Staff training.
- Services to the courts
- ASC Events / lectures.
We believe that our support should be Person Centred, grounded in the Social Model of Disability and informed by current knowledge of the Autism Spectrum, and we ensure that all our staff are fully trained in these areas.
The company was founded in 2003 by Christine Breakey who also manages the service. Christine is author of The Autism Spectrum and Further Education, a guide to Good Practice; and co-author of Access and Inclusion for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Both are published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers.
We work in partnership with Autistic people and organisations who share similar ideals and beliefs.
